A video message was sent by the Minister of Environment and Urbanization, Murat Kurum, to the Marmara International City Forum (MARUF 21), which is organized biennially by the Marmara Municipalities Union (MBB) with the slogan “Cities that Develop Solutions”. In the published video message, the Ministry announced that they started a new era for their cities by announcing Turkey’s first and the world’s fourth National Smart Cities Strategy and Action Plan in 2019. He also noted that in this context, they are building the cities of the future as the world’s first smart city project built from scratch in the new settlement area that will serve Esenler and regional municipalities.
Pointing out that they will teach new urban planning trends to cities with the specialization centres they will establish here, the Institution stated that they will bring a teaching city model to the nation, and that they will establish a new urbanism bridge with the works and projects they will implement.
